mentally texting you right now
My best friend from college texted me yesterday.
“I was going to reach out sooner—been down pretty hard with the flu. But sending you hugs…”
I smiled, because the number of times I’d mentally texted her to check in—but never actually put my thumbs to my phone—were countless.
That conversation carried on for the twenty minutes we were both on our phones. We recapped the past month, talked about health challenges and navigating grief, and planned our next skiing trip together.
For twenty minutes, we caught up. We recapped the past month, talked about health challenges and grief, planned our next ski trip.
Then, as always, life pulled one of us away. No goodbye, no pressure. Just the unspoken understanding that we’d pick up where we left off—sooner or later.
And it made me think: How often do we mean to check in, but never actually do?
So, let’s pause for a quick check-in.
Maybe the year hasn’t started exactly as you planned. Or maybe you’ve hit the ground running but are already feeling the pace catching up.
Honestly, it’s okay if things feel a little wobbly right now. Life doesn’t follow perfect timelines, and neither do we.
✨ Here’s your reminder:
You don’t need a new month, a new week, or even a new day to start fresh.
You can begin again anytime you choose.
Right now, today, this very moment can be your reset.
So, take a deep breath and ask yourself:
What feels good right now?
What’s one small thing I can focus on today?
How can I give myself a little grace?
Remember, progress doesn’t happen in one big leap. It’s built with small, intentional steps—and it’s okay to take as many restarts as you need.
Here’s to making every day count (even the messy ones).
With love,
Genta
P.S. If today is your fresh start, I’m cheering you on! Let me know how I can help you stay encouraged. ❤️
