You ever watch olives get turned into gold?

Hey ,

A few days ago, up in the quiet hills of Pukë, Albania, I stood in the sun watching a man hand-press olives.

No machines. No rush. No timers or timers for the timers.

Just a slow, deliberate rhythm—press, wait, pour.

At first, I was antsy. “How long does it take?” I asked.
He just shrugged and smiled:
“As long as it needs.”

And I swear to you, the universe slipped me a Post-it right then and there:

"This is your nervous system on olive oil."

Slow. Steady. Powerful.
A process that doesn't look fast—but creates something worth savoring.

It made me think:
Most of us are trying to squeeze out results like we’re on a deadline for becoming a better human.
Press harder. Push faster. Force the glow.

But your body?
She’s more olive press than espresso shot.

She thrives in slow, rhythmic effort—not frantic “fix it” mode.

And that’s what I’ve been learning lately.
My best ideas, most peaceful mornings, and juiciest content don’t come from rushing.

They come from giving things as long as they need.

Including myself.
